Jean-Michel is a fluently bilingual litigation lawyer who has been practicing since his call to the Ontario and B.C. bars in 2013.  An Ottawa native, Jean-Michel articled with a litigation firm in Ottawa, before spending the early years of his litigation career practicing commercial and insurance defence litigation in Vancouver. Jean-Michel returned to practice law in Ottawa in 2017.

Jean-Michel attended the University of Ottawa where he obtained his Bachelor of Science as well as his law degree through the French Common Law program.

Jean-Michel has successfully represented clients in the Ontario Superior Court and Small Claims Court as well as the Federal Court of Canada, the B.C. Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of B.C. and at other administrative tribunals.

Jean-Michel is sensitive to clients’ concerns and takes the time to establish a connection with each client. He takes the time to appreciate their unique circumstances to better enable him to vigorously defend their interests whether in the context of settlement or trial.

Jean-Michel has worked on various matters and disputes ranging from insurance defence litigation to personal injury, commercial and intellectual property litigation as well as employment litigation and professional negligence (malpractice) litigation.

He is interested in all things scientific and nerdy in nature, enjoys making new acquaintances and is always ready to lend a hand. Volunteering is also an important aspect of Jean-Michel’s practice. He is involved in various associations in the Ottawa Valley, including the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association and the “Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario” (AJEFO).

In his spare time, Jean-Michel enjoys soccer, sea kayaking, hiking, tennis and scuba diving.
